Karen,

Great color, texture and composition. I find the frame a bit distracting.

Keep up the good work!

It's all been said, Karen. A simple but effective summing up of the season.
Nicely done.
Kind regards, Chris.
P.S. I agree with David about the frame ~ though, for me, all it would take to improve it would be a thinner stroke.

Roger Cotgreave   {K:15892} 10/25/2003
Hi Karen, you have some nice pics in your collection, thanks for your comments on my flower shot. It is an Australian flower called Callistemon (bottlebrush) and I nearly did take the flower color for the border....ta Roger

Craig Garland   {K:27077} 10/25/2003
....simple, colorful, and beautiful. A very nice small "study". Nice seeing Karen! Cheers. Craig

The intense colors really help to emphasize the composition and textures. I like the simplicity. It brings to mind everything about Fall and the holiday season.

John Barclay   {K:3650} 10/29/2003
I love the idea and it's a great find... but... It feels a bit cramped for me. I feel like it needs a bit more space around it. In addition the foreground or bottom is in focus but the top or back is not. I believe this is caused by the angle you shot it at. Either you needed more DOF or most likely the film plane or in your case the sensor plane of the camera needed to be parallel with the subject.

Marcy Massura   {K:1848} 11/6/2003
Lovely Karen- and so different for you! Nice 'matte' too! happy fall!

Elaine Collins   {K:1575} 11/15/2003
I like that you shot this at an angle, I like the colors against the gray texture as well.

Jim Loy   {K:22839} 12/18/2003
Well now...small grey speckles in the leaf, small red speckles in the patio brick---nice balance. Great time of year. Where exactly is this "Heartland" pic from?
