About I photographed this white agapanthus late one evening in my garden. I sat on the ground and shot upwards, so the pale sky would be the backdrop. I used exposure compensation to overcome the brighness, and I'm quite pleased with the result.

Sarah, This is a lovely shot, sharp and very well exposed.
just a suggestion, what about cropping the right side to the edge of the front (in focus) flower. I held some card to my right and I felt it made the image stronger.
That said this is very well taken

nice flower Sarah.

I would suggest a black background

I have to completely disagree with Arrey on the b/g question (sorry, Arreymbuo). It's lovely the way it is. I'm a little distracted about the blossoms cut in the lower left, but the captured delicacy of the white against the white compensates in my mind for the "loss". I agree with Kim about the right side crop which would balance out the cut. It would have the added benefit of moving the focus flower from the middle and place it in the right third. Also, I think it would make an interesting shape, emphasizing the cascade of flowers.

Of course, what do I know? I'm a wannabe.

I love it. My favourite photograph of yours to date! Keep up the great work.

Thanks to everyone who commented on this one.
I'm very pleased with it, so much so, that I'm having an enlargement done to go on my wall.

Thanks to all the encouragement I have been given on this site since I've been posting. It's really made a difference to my technique and my trust in my own ability as a photographer.

Gorgeous. I almost passed the thumbnail by, but am SOOOo glad I opened the larger version. I vote for the background to stay as is...there is such delicacy here. The DOF is exactly right. The right crop mentioned by Kevin would strengthen the image. You did a terrific job, and I'm sure the print is dynamite.

Nicely done! Very creative, this looks like a "high key" studio shot.
