About Taken in late August, Jasper National Park. I'm told the Athabasca River can reach depths of 1-2 meters, but due to this year's drought, I was able to walk right into the middle of this enormous river (approx. 1/2 a mile) in ankle-deep water. Large, blanched trees were beached here and there; it was strange.

The sky is extremely hazy in this photo due to a recent fire that had hit Jasper, combined with the residual smoke of 3 larger fires in B.C.

All critiques brought home and fed generous helpings of hot chocolate and marshmallows. :)

Lovely shot, your choice to use a polariser has made this picture. Great foreground.

This is a really lovely shot, and I don't think you should make excuses for the haze in the background - I think it just adds to the picture. The details in the foreground of the water is intriguing.

Very nice strange image! Very interesting work!

There are such great lines in this image... it stands out for that reason alone. Since the water was so shallow the ploarising filter really maximized the look of the sand. I wouldn't bother with the haze in the bg either... it just adds more depth.

Wonderful shot, Becky! I love that you have included such a strong foreground, with the great 'scalloping' of the sand under the water. You've definitely captured and amazing sense of grandeur, here!

Great shot I have never seen it this low... what a great opportunity for cool photos and toe cleaning
