About No PS work. This photo looks kind of grainy, but I'm not sure why. It would be nice to see more details in the trees on the right side of the photo - is it distracting for others as well?

Delightful shot in every way ~ apart from the slight graininess you referred to.
Yes, ti would be nice to see a little more detail in the trees, but until they make a camera that's as good as your eye, (and one we can all afford!!), there will always be things you just can't capture.
Nice work, Becky.
Kind regards, Chris

Very good composition Becky. The lightning is wonderful and the colours of the sky are matching so well with the water! Well done. My best regards,
Diana.

Other than the fact that your eye is probably used to the fine grain of Velvia(*grin*), I have no idea why the grain is so noticeable. Excellently sharp image with a great sweeping vista of clouds and sea. I don't mind the lack of detail on the right, as it makes the lines of the dock stand out really well.

Too bad about the vingetting though... hard to clean up the edges on shots like this with the clouds intergrated in the sky. Perhaps you need to look into a slim polarising filter? They do the same but are about half the size so that when you use a wide angle lens there is less chance that the corner of the filter will be caught in the image.

Thanks Kim - I had no idea such a thing existed! Know where I could pick one up?

Kerrisdale Camera should have them... or even Black's. Phoning around would be your best bet... just ask if they have slim linear polarising filters. I think I'll have to get one for my 19-35mm because at the 19mm end a thick one will show. They're alittle more pricey, but worth it for a clean image.

What the heck is wrong with vignetting?
