About Polaroid emulsion lift onto 140 lb. watercolor paper. Just finished drying last night. I'm really excited about this process. I'm not sure why I keep shooting household items, I notice they show up in my work very often.
Thanks for checking this out and for any comments or suggestions...I really do love hearing your interpretations and ideas on how to improve my work.

Interesting image. I am experimenting with manipulated polaroids too..but haven't tried the image transfer technique yet. I'm really enthusiastic about these techniques and love to see other work in this medium :)

Oh I love this one. Creative, funny and beautiful

Ah, a woman after my own heart. These are so cool it is hard to wait for them to dry. I've done some of these and the emulsion transfer, too (see attached). They are sooo much fun. I recently bought a new (old) slide-to-polaroid printer on ebay - Hanimex Diaprint (I've used a Vivitar slide printer and Daylab in the past) and all I need now is some polaroid film and some time. This has resparked my interest into getting back into polaroid transfers so maybe this fall when the weather turns bad (it was 27 dgrees here this morning in Wisconsin, brrrr) I will hole up and crank some of these out.

This one is way cool, and I like how the shape of the grater echoes the manipulation you did to the emulsion edges. You will enjoy this, and because you seem to be very creative will come up with some of your own ideas as you go along. I'd highly suggest getting the book "Photographer's Guide to Polaroid Transfer" by Christopher Grey.

I tried doing "reply" on my email, but not sure if it shows here or will go directly to Betsy.

Betsy,
I love your dry image transfer. Sounds cold, we had good weather in Colorado today....low 50's. I will check out the book you recommended. Thank you.
I've had a hard time with the dry transfer process. I think because I'm using a warm light head enlarger so the colors look so muted since the image doesn't have a chance to fully develop. I'll keep at it though, my friend has a color head enalrger and another one has a slide printer. Sounds like the slide printer may be the way to go if I really get into this and want to invest more money in my experimenting.
Thank you for your kind words.
Heather

Heather, a nice thing about the Daylab is the ability to transfer your slide to special 8 x 10 polaroid film -- if you get the adapter -- not cheap but the 8 x 10's are so much nicer. The dry transfer is much, much harder than the emulstion lift, and you never know how the colors will turn out. They are good for scanning and enhancing even further though. Oh, so many ideas, so little time...

love the results from this, you've taken something ordinary and made it into an icon.
