wow...i am in awe. GREAT job. the shutter speed was a good choice and i think the exposure is pretty balanced. the blurred movement of the water really makes this seem like a painting. i personally like the sun position as it is...it's a good, tranquil ending to an unsure day.

Thanks to all of you for your comments. I can appreciate Vincent's comments regarding location of the sun, however, the sky & cloud color didn't seem quite as dramatic with the sun at a higher position.

This photo is breath taking. I have visited this exact spot i believe once before...but it was a cloudy day, and i actually wondered how a sunset would be at this spot. as i sit here and look at it i can say that im really jealous of this shot...be amazed on top of that. this image left me breathless, and as i sit here at school, taking the risk of getting in trouble (i am suppose to be doing something with Corel Draw or something) i am going to look at the rest of your photos. EXCELLENT WORK!

I think this is an awsome photograph. I sunrise/sunset photographs are really high on my list of pleasures and this one is extremely well done. I think the balance is just about spot on. Which part do you want to lighten/darken? Lighten the top and you blow out some of the awesome color, darken the top, and your clouds go to black. ND filters are a great tool and sometimes overused and too obvious, but used well here. I use them quite a lot and am learning all the time. Great effort, I would hang this on my wall.

Thank you for sharing. I do see your hesitation with the balance, there is only a slight loss of detail in the rocks, maybe a reflector would have filled in the rocks just enough? Hard to say without actuually being there.

I think it works well. I can see where the foreground could use a little more exposure, but I think it also looks more realistic this way too. The sheeting water is amazing, looks very icey, works well against the warm glow of the sun. Great Job.

Wonderful light, colour and textures here,Steven. I love the rendition of the water in the foreground,with that slightly ghostly effect that comes from using a long exposure. My only reservation here is that I think you have darkened the sky too much- maybe a 2 stop grad would have been better as the sky looks too dark in relation to the sea - it almost looks like it came from a different picture altogether.
