| About |
I don't know if there is a usefilm.com rule on posting real old photos. This photo of President Kennedy was taken over the Christmas holidays in 1962 while my family was vacationing in Florida. I was 15 years old and John Kennedy had less than a year to live. The photo was made with a Polaroid Land Camera, one of the kind that unfolded and had bellows. The finished print was peeled from the back of the camera and then had to be coated with some "goo" that came with the film. I scanned the original print for the first time earlier this year and show it here in full frame with no cropping. Considering the amazing number of photographs that were taken of Kennedy, there is nothing particularly special about this one. But to me it shows the unique power of a photograph to rekindle old memories.
