David is quite right. The use of B/W was the only way to go here. The tones make the composition work very well here. They particularly make the road stand out, causing the eye to be drawn naturally up through the whole frame. Excellent work.

they don't come much better than this, a wonderful BW Pia. About the 300D kit lens it is well worth getting it has its sweet points and once you get used to it its very good. The 300d is a great camera for the price,a bit of learning curve if you have never used an SLR. I am still learning, it is much more creative than the point and shoot plus you can get really big prints and no noise. Most of the landscapes in my portfolio were with the kit lens and the one of me you just commented on...thanks for your comments, take care roger

Very effective composition, the road obviously is a strong part of the image. But the element that really does it for me are the dark tones in the foreground. Nice that you have managed to capture the texture of the vegetation.
The darkness is very appealing, it really is the emotional center of the image. So much so that I would crop out a part of the sky so that the brighter part of the image exerts less of a pull upwards.

It simply a magic shot. Tecnichally I belive that it's very well composed, the road dives our eye from left to right with a soft sensation, further I receive an infinity sense so deep that I think that you choice a wonderful title.

You are very good with this "road leading in" theme, I think it's almost a little trademark. It works really well here again, and the contrast between the light surface of the road and the dark vegetation is very pleasing.
The blank sky compliments the mood very well.
