I am happy when I see something ... a new style...
And this ... is very good...
But here ... the comments are wasted for the same and same images....
ciao.
Tommaso.

interesting... i usually do not like this kind of stuff but this is nice
the compo could a bit better, her left foot is to close to boarder distracting from the overall shot

Tomasz Sarna   {K:1778} 12/16/2003
The last one was much better, that's my opinion, anyway You make nice photos.
regards Tom

Dennis Komis   {K:3130} 12/16/2003
this is just grand - another lady photographer infatuated with herself

I wonder what you are experiencing, and what we are to experience here? I like the way this looks but I am not sure where you are going with it. Maybe nowhere in particular and that would be ok too. You added incentive for me to try this myself :-)

But seriously, ask a nex scanner for X-mas !
You noticed that i make few portraits, but in my favs, you can find some girls making very interesting self - have a look there !

'this is just grand - another lady photographer infatuated with herself'

A rather rude comment Dennis to a newcomer,Anne.

I have several 'selfs' in my portfolio.
Wonder why?
Foremost:
I'm a deranged narcissist.
Then:
I'm a ham.
I'm 52 going on 53, so on my last legs to look half way appealing in a world made by men.
I am always present when I get bored and wish to photograph a human.
It's a bloody challenge!
I notice in yours your face is not in sight, ain't easy is it?
Thanks
Peta

Anne, sorry to comment negatively to Mr Komis, but I found him rather tiresome. :)
This is an original look, cool effect!

Arthur Z   {K:5328} 12/19/2003
Anne, I hope you keep it up! Peta is absolutely right...

And you know, I've never believed self-portraiture to be an evidence of 'narcissism'...it is a diary, a journal of one's own thoughts and feelings. Is it narcissistic to record one's thoughts? I believe not. I hope you enjoy keeping your visual journal, I wish you well! Darren

Hi anne,
like your picture ,but...too far way.But it is nice and that?s no reason to downgrade the rating. You know why you did so.
Thanks for your comments,
jorge

Anne, This is what photography is all about, and it is a good thing! Too bad people like Mr. Komis choose to be small minded. Your portrait images are of the finest kind, keep up the outstand work! :)

Roger Skinner   {K:75036} 1/6/2004

i'm impressed! i'm assuming this is a self-portrait? i do a lot of those myself. always nice to see someone else doing it too. to the person who made the comment "infatuated with herself" well, aren't we all? sometimes self-portraits are not a vanity thing, but a soul searching device. i think everyone on earth does a bit of soul searching from time to time.

superb image.

"Dennis Komis (K: Updating C: Updating) - 2003-12-16
this is just grand - another lady photographer infatuated with herself"
I felt compelled to come back and comment on this as it was so unwarranted. A vitriolic comment based on what precisely? You know Anne personally? Her portfolio contains many wonderful photos with only a few of herself yet you have deemed her "infatuated with herself". Each photo conveys her personal style and artistic ability and when no other human is around she has chosen to experiment using herself as the model. The use of "lady photographer" also implies that women are mainly narcissistic and suggests such a dogmatical view on your part. Anne's self portraits to not reveal her as being vain yet your statement imparts a subjective judgment.

well done Anne, very good work, keep it up, ur very good :)
