If youwanted more wheat in the pic i would suggest being able to get above it...carry a step ladder with you and look down..then you can see it fade off instead of the hill sinking down then coming back up and the distance being to great for detail.
I really like how i feel like i am standing in the photo though...ver cool

I like the idea behind this very much, but agree about the dof. Perhaps a wide angle lens would have worked better, instead of a normal?

I can't remember what my aperture was at, but I'm sure I could have given myself more DOF, or I suppose I could have brushed the few stalks in the immediate foreground aside. The things you think about in retrospect! (Still, it was a bit tricky, as I was balancing on a thin ledge of ground with a deep ditch behind me and a fence in front of me.)
Wide angle lens? I've got to get me one of those! *L*
This is the only other photo that turned out at this location (I overexposed the rest). I think this is more what Chris had in mind, but I think I'm still partial to the first one.

I've always wondered where it is that there are fields upon fields of flowers, grain, wheat... etc. It's always so amazing to see. One thing though, that I find awkward is that the image is split by the horizon almost in two... the blue sky takes up half and the green wheat takes up half. I would have prefered more of one or the other (depending on which you wanted to focus on)
I think I like your attached image even better.... love the rolling hills!

this is a good field capture. great sky, good colour both in the sky and fields. i agree about the foreground, but this has already been addressed (years ago!). :)
