About Details, details. With no one around for miles, one can concentrate on the details of Zion National Park in winter. Ellen and I found an alcove and slickrock amphitheater in the outback regions of the east section and hiked for miles in wonderful solitude. A fallen lightning-struck tree provided a nice abstract shadow study on the cold sandstone strata. Temperatures were in the upper 30's... downright balmy for Minnesootans.
