About Lemme try to explain... The white lines are the edges of the hand rails of a staircase that goes up one way then more up the other way... Each wall is a different color... Hope that makes sense.

VERY well seen Eric. Looks like something Alisa would shoot, but your's is nicer.

sean slavin   {K:3488} 11/12/2002
very clever eric. too bad there wasn't more even light to get rid of the shadows on the walls. that would have really made it hard to tell what it is. 8)

Awesome colours! And great capture! Wow... to see this and manage to relate it so well to an image... this is very cool. The timing was perfect... what more can I say? A well derserved EC!

Betsy Hern   {K:12872} 11/12/2002
Very much like a Mondrian -- simple, classic, great lines, wonderful color!

Elangovan S   {K:10675} 11/12/2002
Simple graphics but i m sure very tough to locate and compose. Very well done.

Vincent K. Tylor   {K:8883} 11/12/2002
I have simply never been attracted to abstract images like this. However, your explanation makes this one near imposssible to believe, and an amazing image to capture....perfectly. Reminds me of Kenneth's gold spiral case classic! Congratulations!

Sue O'S   {K:12878} 11/13/2002

Antonio Díaz   {K:2710} 11/20/2002
wow!! perfect combination! i love the tones...

j ruz   {K:1043} 11/22/2002
Ok, what country's flag is this again? Great abstract!

Jeroen Wenting   {K:25227} 11/23/2002
It looks like the South African flag.

Indeed a powerfull image.

Jason Ness   {K:88} 11/30/2002
Handled beautifully as far as colour and composition are concerned....

Maybe its just me, but when a photographer has to explain a photograph in words for the sake of the viewer, it seems to deny photography it's essence as a language in it's own right. I don't like making suggestions but, a person walking up (or down) the staircase could have spoken to your viewers on your behalf....(just a thought)

Nice graphic quality to it.

Steven Vigar   {K:303} 11/30/2002
I'm not seeing what everyone else is. -sv

M.M. Meehan   {K:4119} 12/18/2002
Wonderfull abstract with great geometric patterns and bright colors. Good eye!

Congratulations on the EC

paul durrant   {K:1047} 2/12/2003
well i have to agree with jason's comments. while it is undoubtedly a well executed shot, without the explanation and title, i doubt anyone would have realised what it was.
i'm not saying there's anything wrong with it. it just doesn't do it for me! would make for a nice party trick to confuse your friends though!!!

Shai Ritblatt   {K:3755} 2/23/2003
at the begining i thought some kid made a picture in paintbrush.
i think if you had taken a picture with a person going up it could have been more easy to understand and maybe even more powerfull.
anyways, good job.

Rick Carroll   {K:224} 3/31/2003
I love every aspect of this shot. Well Done.

Neil Shapiro   {K:2122} 4/14/2003

Deepti DCunha   {K:891} 4/14/2003

Stupendamente composta e splendidi colori

Ciao Giuliano

Maarten Geers   {K:1070} 6/19/2003
This is what color photography is all about. Just a few colors to make a very strong image. Perfect. And thanks for sharing your technical details.

Alan Mead   {K:1984} 6/19/2003
For me, the important thing abou tthis image is the fact that it was "seen" by th photgrapher. It could have been left without a title really, and in that case it would have remained 'abstract'; knowing what it is in reality is the only fautt. The photo is simply clean clear, exquisitely composed to perfection, and the colour just terrific.
If only I coud take shots like this one!
Alan Mead

ourania papadimitriou   {K:230} 6/20/2003
cool. when i first saw it i thought it is some kind of flag. well seen.
regards
sky

Jamie Ferguson   {K:6284} 7/30/2003
I've seen this shot a few times now and I always keep thinking its a flag for some country, I can see it as a staircase but it wants to be seen as a flag. Maybe in a past life...

Thor Smith   {K:12} 7/30/2003
Mondrian reincarnates with the camera, taking a new angle. Bravo!

dottie W   {K:84} 8/3/2003

Fantastic shot, original and very, very well executed. Nice, brilliant and vivid colors. More than interesant idea. It's a milestone. Bravo! Regards, Hugo.

Marcin Gorski   {K:12388} 9/5/2003
perfection

Katherine Hagen   {K:2359} 9/9/2003
Difference between some photographers and others. Some need to understand the image to enjoy it and some can enjoy it w/o having an explaination. Go to the Louvre...same problem. "so what is it?" I think it is very dramatic and even if it were a plain flat wall, the colors and lines are wonderful and striking. I could maybe imagine what I thought it was.....art stimulates imagination (sometimes). Great shot and wonderful attention to your environment. Bravo.

Jim Smiley   {K:280} 9/9/2003
Great shot. Very good 'seeing'.

Antonio Trincone   {K:23167} 9/9/2003
All excellent here but agree with some commenters; at least one or more people going down and up the stairs could dramatically increase the beauty of this shot

Afriadi Hikmal   {K:2162} 10/27/2003
Nice imagination.

Jose Luis Elisei   {K:10213} 11/7/2003
