Beautiful picture, Sarah. Stunning colour and great control of depth of field.

Thanks so much for the comment Michael.
I had such low views on this one, that I thought I was the only person who thought it was quite good!! Your comment was much appreciated.

Michael is right about the stunning color and DOF. I am only bothered by the bright folliage at the bottom left and that bit to the right side. It might be burned in a little in PS. About 90% of my florals have a giant green leaf shooting out of the image, which I didn't see in the viewfinder, so I'm still learning :)

I think it's quite good too - I was going to comment on it, but then got lost in a sea of new submissions and comments. It's hard to keep up sometimes! (No, I'm not complaining!)
I agree with Mary Sue about the highlights, though the only ones that bother me are the decidedly white bits. I feel you have enough depth here to set aside your subject from the green foliage in the background. Something about this photo makes me want to crop a little from the top and a little from the right, though I'm not exactly sure why. Just personal preference, I think.
The texture of the flower is wonderful and you did a great job capturing it. It looks like a quartered lemon! :)
