Excellent composition and great detail on the moon, Greg. It would be interesting to know what the exposure/aperature were on this one but I notice that you mention that they weren't recorded. I've been wanting to get some moonset shots over one of the Lake Michigan lighthouses for months and Mother Nature's perverse sense of humor has afforded me with heavily clouded skys every time there's a full moon. Oh well...

The upward angle of the photograph puts things in perspective for me. There is the photographer (humans) who is looking up to nature, and beyond to the stars. The photo evokes a feeleing of reverence towards the nature and the universe. The lighter foreground against the dark sky creates almost a paradoxical view for we are accustomed to seeing a lighter sky with darker foreground, relatively speaking.

Beautiful photo (as are all of your photos). I've got this obsession with photos of the moon and have tried for years to get one really good one of my own (unforutnately not to much success).
