About I was on an assigment when I stumbled across a girl that I had fancied when we were both in the 8th grade. We didn't recognize each other at first but it was the voice that stuck. She said the same. We walked and talked for a while and then we sat underneath a tree to pack 20 years worth of stuff into a five minute conversation. Susie, the girl from the 8th grade introduced me to Kayla her daughter. Kayla had just earned herself medal for participating in the walk. Susie told me that it has been a difficult struggle everyday being a mom, especially of a child with Down's Syndrome. Kayla proceeded to show me her medal and smile and giggle at the "funny man". They both told me much later that really liked the picture. I hope that you do too.

Great moment capture and very touching story.

Paul,

My wife and I have worked with the handicapped for years here in Missouri. We are elated to see a wondeerful shot like this showing the joy that can be brought to a child by doing what other kids do. Great shot, and great story! Have thought of submitting it to Special Olympics?

Hey Russell and Ivan--
Over the past months I have enjoyed both of your work. You keep me on my toes which is what this site is supposed to do. This is one of my favorite photos that I have shot not only because I got to see my friend again after such a long interval, but because I always felt that the picture didn't need a caption. What do you guys think? I am still looking to take that one picture that will eliminate the need for a caption, that would be ideal.

Paul,

I think you found the shot that doesn't need a title with this one!
Later my friend
