Muito boa!

Kim Culbert   {K:36791} 1/8/2004
Simple, yet full of so much atmosphere... the pastel toning of the image adds a sense of calming and punches up the power of the soft lines and straws.

Hugo Pierre   {K:15692} 1/8/2004
Delightful image! Composition plenty of beauty, with splendid colors and subtle lighting.
A finesse!
Best regards,
Hugo

Stefan Engström   {K:24473} 1/8/2004
Fading into the diffuse background is a lovely finish for this photo.

Lesley Silvia   {K:-66} 1/8/2004
I love the pink tint, for me it adds an "other world" feel to it.

Ellen Havrilla   {K:8618} 1/8/2004
Prachtig plaatje, Hugo, mooie compositie en kleuren!
groetjes Ellen

Rob Ernsting   {K:8946} 1/8/2004
Heel leuk abstracte vormgeving, Hugo. Groetjes Rob.

MaryBell    {K:32791} 1/8/2004
Like Fabio said about to drown but still hopeful...this looks very grainy (no pun intended) as if the scan weren't as good as you might want - I bet the original is much more stunning than this...

Massimo Di Maggio   {K:-56725} 1/8/2004
This is fantastic, it seems to be on the Mars surface, I like the signs on the sand and those little but strong grass groups, the colour is wonderful and the way how it vanishes to the horizon makes this image very magic. Bye Max

Don Loseke   {K:32500} 1/8/2004
Very nice work. Great composition with dark at the bottom and dark at the top to highlight the center of interest. Great picture. Don.

André Bermak   {K:14443} 1/8/2004
Excelente composição,linda tonalidade da areia........

Marcel Laurens   {K:3639} 1/8/2004
Hugo - wonderful patterns and tones and color... you commented on my "flutes" picture and the curve in the column. That curvature is actually designed and built into the column - not a camera thing. the ancient greeks designed their temples with columns that had a slight curvature in them to help with the visual perpsective of the facade. they believed it looked more natural than a straight column. sorry for my weak description - see the book "History of Architecture" by Sir Banister Fletcher for a better explanation. normal viewing of a building from the front it's not noticable, but from this unusual angle it's visible. there is a name for the curve, but i can't remember it... strange but true....

Gerhard Hoogterp   {K:6438} 1/8/2004

Paolo De Maio   {K:34166} 1/8/2004
A wonderful and warm atmosphere.
Easy but effectiveness!
Congrats
Paolo

hugo,
a very intensive and strong detail delivering a direct feeling of heat and sand storm and the silence of the unfathomable greatness of the desert.

thank you very much for your comment on 'la pedriza'

Hugo

This is an awesome photo. I like what you've done with the toning of the upper portion, it sure sets the mood for the subject.

Thanks for your comments about "Pier Review". You asked why I dropped out the right bottom frame. There was nothing to hide except more water and I wanted to give it that "commercial" or "post card" look. You can see the original (with the frame still in) at the comments section here: http://www.usefilm.com/image/282767.html

Rodrigo Sanders   {K:305} 2/26/2004
I liked the color tones on this picture and the detail of the sand, and im a lover of deserts.

Zsolt Radákovits   {K:7763} 3/15/2004
Very nice again!

Hing Wong   {K:1568} 3/16/2004
Color tone and the defocused beyond horizon... Nice.

Lori Stitt   {K:74437} 3/18/2004
Here's one I haven't seen yet! I like this photograph VERY MUCH! I really like the rose color sand. Usually it tends to be grayish, or golden. This is nice, the ripples, the few straws poking through...very nice. It resembles water in a way! GOOD JOB, HUGO!

ps...thank you for your comments on 'Go Figure!!!'....I forgot to mention that the structure on the right side of the picture was actually part (small part) of the steam ship 'Berkely' docked next to it. I really went back and forth trying to decide wheather or not to leave it in. But it seemed vacant without it. (I agonized over it actually, as I tend to do..LOL) It was a 'draw'..

Lori :)

Richard Thornton   {K:26442} 8/6/2004
Remember this one? My favorite of the three. It has less of the conventional dune image and more creativity ? the glorification of the common weed. I really like the coloration you've given it. If Mars had life then this would be how it looks. (7)

Hugo de Wolf   {K:184670} 8/6/2004
Hi Richard, I do remember this shot....) Thanks for taking the time to browse through my portfolio so far back!

Cheers, and thanks for your comments!

Hugo

Richard Thornton   {K:26442} 7/14/2005
What have you been up to, Hugo? Oh, now I see. This one is really exceptional, straw boats upon a sea of sand. This would make a nice fine art print. I guess I'll have to go to Death Valley and see if I can find a similar scene. This one should bring out the zen in us all!

Sophia Douma   {K:49} 7/14/2005
Magnificent photo!!

Fern    {K:2509} 7/14/2005
