About A rare aurora sighting in Tennessee. It was very faint so I guessed at the exposure to try and soak up the color.

Wow! This is extremely cool. Especially considering this is from Tennessee. Your file seems a little too dark. The "auto contrast" feature in photoshop and a very very minor level adjustment really helps your file. I'll bet this is truer to your image than the file you uploaded. Very nice long exposure!

robert, this is wonderful! i was very bummed when i missed it here in virginia. my friend told me about it the next day :( i think you did a great job here (guessing the exposure and all). i'd love to see jim's version of this but all i see is a train ;^) hopefully altaf et. al. will get these sorted out eventually. anyhow, i wanted to see if it'd be possible to get more color. was there more color? was it just green or did it change colors? if so, i wonder if a tad shorter exposure would've shown it.

thanks for your comment. much appreciated. btw, my jab at the "exploder" was specifically because of this. we usually rent a blazer and it has never let us down. hell, we've done better in a monte carlo! ;^) we had the wives with us on this trip, however, and we needed something with a bit more room so we went with the exploder. never again!!

take care,
tom
