About The twillight on the first of January 2004 these snow covered bikes await the thaw. This shot was made with very subdued light; but can I blame the film for the slight overexposure? Comments are welcome; need some advise on where this tryptich went wrong.

Or would this one be better to complete this series.....? Please advise....

I like this one and the first one for the tryptich - I think you need the same type of bike in a scene that is different a different season perhaps or where we can see grass or flowers or a tree trunk or a child playing nearby (but still a close aspect of the bike. I don't think the removed aspect like the shot you aske about works. I also don't think that you want a human figure to figure to prominately perhaps it leaning something with a man's pant leg and shoe in the scene...

wonderful job, good!

well... i think that -1,5 perhaps -2EV would add a lot of lovely grain and a lot of details in light areas of snow... what do you think ?
i like the composition and framing very much,
keep coming back here to look at the photo :-)

Graphically and geometrically this is really fun! Nice composition.

This is a great shot Hugo!
It have a lot of potentional and emotion apeal!
IT reminds me on lost of hope; when even in Netherlands people do not use bikes anymore...
Great as allways!
Thanks on your most appreciated comments!

No comment just put it... You know where to.

Although the white is a little too white these are notoriously difficult shots to take. Without a controlled environment ie studio next to impossible. However I think this has added to the shot by making it more graphic, more gritty.

Yhe composition and how the image fills the screen is spot on in my opinion. Maybe one could add a little blue to the shot but personally leave it as it is.

Congratulations

Manu

Hi Manu, thanks for your comment. I agree with you, the hard, graphical contrast is a bit too much, and I found the shot quite difficult to take. As I only had my camera a few days, and never tried the Ilford Delta 1600 before, this was more of an experiment than a well planned shot.

The idea of adding a bit of blue is a very good idea. Thanks for the comment and the tip!

Cheers,

Hugo
