One thing to think about as an alternative to this is flipping this horizontal to conceal it is a mirror shot. (see the attached) Great self portrait. I like this a lot.

Kevin, thanks for your response to my criticism. Concerning stereo photos, my motive is not so much to increase the impact as to capture the impression that the scene made on me more faithfully. I am very much a naturalistic/journalistic photographer, and the stereoscopic element is very important to me. That "third dimension" often has the information you need to sort out branches from one another, and similarly coloured things at different distances. But of course, with my limited skills and experience, I'm grateful for any "wow" effect that stereo can give... {g} Regarding your own work, your explanation made perfect sense. It is all done for effect, even though it isn't always clear afterwards what the motive was for a particular treatment. That seems just a little bit cavalier to me, given my own attitude to photography, but I must admit I've been impressed with how beautiful some of your photos look after PS treatment and was honestly puzzled by the brightly coloured boat under a B&W sky. Thanks for bothering to explain. I am very glad to count you among my "friends." Usefilm style, that is.

Ameed El-Ghoul   {K:42174} 8/30/2006
Kevin,
What a wonderful portfolio, It took me couple of hours to go through it, and follow your progress since you joined UF. I find it quiet impressive, high photography skills and amazing PS techniques, combined together makes unique results.
I find your portfolio one of the best in the site, If I would select one portfolio to be the best in UF I would nominate you. It is the kind of portfolio that you can't help but to wish those were your pictures,
very well done my friend and keep up the good work,
Regards,
Ameed,
