Wonderful shadows and tones. Seems to me like the primary composition is somewhere in the middle of the frame, perhaps middle-to-right. Have you considered a square crop? Well done.

Very moving photo. Thank you for sharing it. Thank you for your many nice comments. Yes that was a picture of the San Jacinto Monument, one of my favorite areas to spend an hour or two. The shot was actually taken on the cold and foggy morning just before the shuttle accident.
