Heather, first I admire your willingness to stick your current focus out there, frankly your exercise on Polaroid emulsion transfer intrigues me on the process aspect, as well as on a design level. The image to me stands strong on it's own - but because your direction is unique, the pencil on contrast, etc... I say is definitely worth a try - can continue in your series of such. Your focus on such, away from "digital" is definitely respected and refreshing. I hope myself to continue within darkroom techniques, getting down to the basics of sorts - don't want to lose that grassroots aspect. I wouldn't say you are scattered at all (bio)- lack of emotion...leave that to the eye of the beholder. I will say that it's a definite risk when you present images of such personal importance and it can get "one" out of their comfort zone - You've definitely shown this within your work and that is of definite value! Continue to do what you do. I will check back... Regards, Cindi

I think this is an image that you could create several images with and try lots of things. you mention colored pencil, I see machine embroidery and layers of tissue paper...........perhaps a tryptk?

curious about your statements in you bio..... "process over subject matter, but I am striving to equal them out. I feel that my work is very scattered and unemotional"............. with my photography I am driven by the composition.......the work of line and dark, lines and angles. And although I want to get back to making cynaotypes, the process really doesn't interest me (and I got my degree in photography!) as for my other art work (sculptural pieces) I try any and all things............still obsessed with shapes and form, but trying different processes amaze me at this point. as for unemotional...............my feeling is that all this frankly is for me and it feeds MY soul, if it evokes emotion for me fine, others? well who knows.

boy, apart from not feeling like remembering how to spell, I DO feel philosopical today huh?
