About All alone on what many call the most beautiful of all the Hawaiian beaches, Lani Kai. The white sand, and practically no reef whatsoever give the waters an exceptional turquoise color. The two little islands in the background are called the Mokuluas. The colors are real. Re-posting an old friend here for those with the cold Winter Blues!

The paradise is here!.... Wonderful and magic scene.
Great work with fantastic colours.
A smile.

What makes this photograph for me is the overlap of wave in the foreground. Just that tiny white wave makes all the difference as it is such a simple element (simple line, simple colour...) in an image that has so much power. Thanks for re-posting! With all the rain here I really need to see some tropical shots!

While I agree with Kim that the foreground foam is a subtle, textural (sure it's a word!) touch, what I like best are the rock formations in the distance. First of all, they're quite unique. Islands of rock sitting in the middle of the ocean may not be uncommon in Hawaii, but to these continental eyes, they lend a touch of exoticism to the scene. Secondly, the rocks provide a nice sense of scale and distance.

The sky is perfectly exposed (as usual!) . . . I like how it appears almost like a ceiling - like you could reach out and touch it. This photo seems a bit grainy to me, but I'm not sure if it's just my monitor (I'm currently at work, and supposed to be working).

Thanks for sharing this slice of summer with us. :)

Colors of paradise. The beach looks like one big mango, the water : white frosting. The sky seems a bit too intense, as if a polariser was used. Really amazing photograph.
