Well seen Sandy, and lovely composition, I love those red shutters and the different textures in this image :)

Nope time doesn't stop... you're in control of your life and you only stop yourself ;)

The snow fringe really adds to this. Cold & old, but there is always some kind of warmth that comes from brick.

Glad to see you've gotten out... still trying to make it myself.

I'm not a freak, but I p__________ (fill in the blank...) ;)
cheers m'lady...

Very nice composition, Sandy - I like how the warm colors of the bricks and the shutters (great texture in those!) stand in contrast to the cold whiteness of the snow! Great old building - it looks so non-prefabricated :)

Stefan Engström   {K:24473} 2/2/2004
I love brick too, but the snow... dunno.

MaryBell    {K:32791} 2/2/2004
excellent composition and I love the way the red paint plays with the red brick...great abstract architectural piece...

sandy c. hopkins   {K:17107} 2/2/2004
ummm....
uhhh...looks around uncomfortably..

i actually use digital memory card...the colours here were fantastic anyways though..and it was the afternoon sun i would say around 4:30 winter time..sun was to set in an approximation of 40 minutes...
hehee ,
but to really give it a punch i kicked up my contrast in photoshop just a smidge..other than that nothing..it is really amazing what you can do with that contrast button...it sharpens things a bit...puts a big grin on my face..thanks for asking. and thanks everyone for the kind words. i was't sure about this piece or of my eye as far as the area i chose to photo.. but i knew i loved the texture and colour...thanks again.

This image should give a sense of abandonment and decay, instead it?s almost happy, maybe for the color of the windows or for the beautiful texture of the wall, the bricks with different colors create a very nice effect. Bye Max

Robin McAulay   {K:8908} 2/2/2004
sometimes staring at the walls doesn't have to drive you mad - this is zen at work and you caught it at a great time..

Emgy Massidda   {K:60169} 2/2/2004
Beautiful old building, interesting details and the texture o f the brick walls is amazing. A colourful image, well composed and captured superbely.
The candid snow contrasts perfectly to the the bricks and makes the building appear even older than it probably is.
Different from your usual work, Sandy, nevertheless, very beautiful image.
HUGS
