Well composed with depth of field highlighting subject in sharp focus. Not sure about the emotion - is this welcoming or threatening? Maybe we are meant to be unsure.

the character is all there - the shadows in the eye sockets- fit the gaurded nature that this man probably has inspite of his bluff and hearty approach...

Nice grab! I like it as is but wonder how it would look as a portrait crop just showing the head, hand and upper chest of the foreground figure. He's the story, the rest is distrating.
