About I first shot this guy in 1993 in Kenya, and he's been hanging on my wall ever since; today I snapped him from across the room with my FZ.

Do not get too close my friend. It gave me an idea since I will be in Kenya next month...I think the photo is excellent...

Oh, a picture of a picture, well he's bored with the whole process. I like that you shot him in the middle of a yawn.

The re-shoot obvoiusly lost u some sharpness but gave it a slight blurry painter's touch. Looks like straight from the Tarzan series. Simba roars.

Usualy I avoid to critic pets ,any birds or even lions pictures. It?s a matter of aesthetic principle or a matter of principle of choice.Got it? No ? Neither I.I know why but it?s dificult to tell. But your lion is a exception. To me it?s funny, unusual, odd, has everything that lacks in those pictures I avoid. If it was a monkey or or a *** ( could not public offend some people I don?t like) it would be equaly interesting. It is a genuine gesture of "I don?t care , I don?t give a *** " , I am in my own and hell for the world".I very well understand that philosophical aproach , same I have when I read critics to the pictures I post in PhotoSig ! If I was that lion, I?ll pay a visit to that blessed sanctuary of the taliban refugees.
My Santiago picture, with a modicum of sky but in tune with mother earth, tilted to the right side? Good, excellent.Bad if it was tilt to the left. You may be right, but, you know, my little sin is to care about rules what your lion cares about the world...
Regards
jorge
