Wow this is fabulous Jan! In black and white too, that's different from you, but you've made an excellent job! The little solitary figure in the background and mountains which seem to have been painted in there add so much. Aha!! Scotland!! (you know I'm in fact half Scottish). You always seem to go to the right places... makes me happy :)

Mmmm... beautiful layers of mystique and history! Wonderful composition and mood, and works really well in b&w! The dark parts in the foreground could be the Loch Ness monster if we just use some imagination! ;-)

It's lovely how the sun makes the water glitter, and how the hills in the background almost disappear in the mist!

Hi, Jan everytime I open your photo, I am impressed by the quality and the beauty od the images. This one, again is perfectly composed. What I like most of all are the gradient tones of the mountains that goes over very gently into the tonality of the sky. How beautiful!!!!!

dear jan,
your trip to scotland refined you a lot in landscapes or so i imagine. and i also never imagined scotland being so mountainous? where the heck did they figh all the time in their history if there are high mountains everywhere? good that time seems to be over. there at least.
thank you for your very strong comment on 'malstroem'
best regards

Jan, what a wonderful landscape! I have tried to capture landscape layers before, but never with this success. The viewers eye is pulled all the way to the back of the last mountain.

Thanks for you comment on my image...it led me to look at your portfolio, which has been a treat.

Lori Stitt   {K:74437} 2/23/2004
Another wonderful one! LOVE the tones in this image. Good eye and good job!

Russell Love   {K:7006} 4/21/2004
Jan,

Thanks for the comment about my shot of my son coming home. I know it is not the best of photos, however the mood was electric! Now on to this shot. Jan, you have achieved something in this shot I have always strived for yet never have reached. The contrast is wonderful and the gradual fading of the hills in the backround is magnificant. The shimmering of the water appears like spun silk on my screen. I really like the placement of the the shot. You are leading me to search for what is over the next hillside with the intersecting valleys. Very, very nice tones!

Later my friend,

Russ

All your landscape-shots are VERY interesting, I can learn very much from your composition. Congrats!
