Mike, The rating here is not mine and I haven't rated. The photo looks to be composed well, but is Awful dark and seems out of focus. Besides the camera, what lens and camera settings did you use? F/2.8 or less? Continuous focus mode? Spot metering? Av Priority????

Yes..yes they can..I think you've just proved this.
I dont mind stuff being a bit blurry, I found out you cant really help that (I found this out when I went to take pictures of the destruction hurrican ivan did, the wind made some things blurry) But you captured this image at the right time, it is great
