Fantastic sharpness and colour, as always. :) I especially like the contrast of the red windsurfer in the foreground against the green sea. In fact I like it so much that I wonder if you didn't get any close-up shots of him. While I like the unique view of so many windsurfers looking like colourful specks out on the deep blue, after a certain point it's difficult to differentiate between the boats and the whitecaps.
It must be so interesting to watch!

Aloha!
1. Composition: Looks like a slight extention of the rule of thirds leaning towards quarters, but that is fine with me since you finally have a 178-Degree Horizon! Did you buy an architectural focusing screen for that Nikon? Additionally, the main body of Wind Surfers is composed quite perfectly all the way from front to rear with a nice dark off-setting rock formation in the lower lefthand corner to compliment space in the lower righthand corner for name credits. So, that's all pretty good and I award you a '6' for all that!
2. Lighting: The sky is a nice tropical blue, the wavebreaks throughout are a nice luminous white, but the detail in the beautiful aquamarine water(s) possibly because of oversaturation is lost except for some undercurrent structures, so the foremost windsurfer had better watch out for some abrasions if he gets dumped! Here you get a '5'.
3. Originality: This is totally debateable as a rating so I'll just give the benefit of the doubt with another very 'High-End Good', so you get another '5' ... congrats again!
4. Emotional Appeal: I can feel the non-tangeable and invisible wind in my face, but has indeed been recorded photographically somehow and not because of the use of Velvia, nor the Tamron, nor the Nikon, nor the Polarizer, ... and the Project, Shutter, and Aperture are all anonymous, so it MUST just be because of the 'Subject Matter' itself which is the originality aspect, but I'm going to bump up the rating here a bit to a '6'.
5. We now have two sixes and two fives so far so I am in need of a 'tie-breaker' for the 'overall score'. Okay ... let's go with the presentation border then which has indeed become a part of the image by your own free will. A solid 'Pro Black' for neutrality with a thin inner corresponding color to enhance the picture ... quite fine by me, so I guess you get a combined score of six!
Did I have you sweating there for awhile 'Braddah'?
Mahalo!

At first I wasn't sure with the rocks in the lower left, but after removing them I realised that they need to be there. They add depth, a scale, as well as balance out the image. Love the colours of the windsurfers sprinkled throughout the amazing green/blue water. A N70? Just trying out the backup camera to make sure you still remember how? *grin* Glad to see you posting again! hopefully we can see more tropical shots from you in the near future ,as it's pissing rain here and I need sun!

As always your image is pure pleasure to view. Maybe is because it s cold and there is reminants of snow here but I love the lok in your images. This one shows an interesting perspective with som many windsurfers surging out it is hard to pass.
Just one small question... did you have lunch at Moma's Fish House when done?

Hey Vince... this is a masterful shot... no question... what contributes most to the overall appeal of this for me is the sense of motion and scale... and the way that perfectly lovely straight line of horizon is being tugged at by those convex shaped clouds...
There is a feeling of escape... of sailing off into eternity... again, you go beyond a pretty landscape and somehow manage to capture out fantasies... Bravo!

Hello Vincent. I wish to thank you for your comment. I would need an honest outlet in Hawaii to sell my photoart, but after visiting there are so many talented artists there. And that brings to your work which is very good. I like this paticular photo for the DOF and blend of colors. The different surfers with there multi colored sails. Good work.
Regards,
Tom
