About I was glad of the "reach" of the panorama format to put the tower in its context overlooking this beautiful garden.

Great composition. The symmetrical lines and angles draw a path to the tower nicely and thought the weight of the huge trees on the left side interrupt this, that weight is balanced by the cloud formation overhead. Good job.

This one feels less restricted, perhaps because the main subject is further away, and there is less 'fuss' in the foreground.

Nicely done, Roger.
Pin sharp as ever.
Kind regards,
Chris

Overall very beautiful, but it seems to me ( maybe I'm wrong because I am asthigmatic ) that the tower is slightly slanting and should be rotated counter clockwise.
Congrats for the framing which, of course,is GREAT !! Antonella

Hmmmm... I like the angle and balance very much. It works nicely, but I am not connected with the photo. Maybe because it's at 480 pixels and not on a wall, but I think that the foreground should be closer to draw the viewer into the scene more. Just my 2 cents Rog, all and all a very nice shot. :-)

This is a great shot. Becose you see the garden, witch is Wonderfull, and the castle that makes you know it is the castle garden. Interesting that in the foreground you look almost right down and you look at the castle straight. Brilljant picture!

I'm fascinated with what you've done with this format. It goes against basic principles so purists won't like it - which means I probably will! It really alters the way you look at the subject. Thanks for pointing me towards these older images of yours - I notice this is the first comment on this one since Feb 2004...

Yes, John. They don't get that many comments when they're fresh and then they get buried in the more and more remote past... so, very few comments. But I keep them to have somewhere I can easily file and find them myself. And sometimes someone like yourself happens by and finds them interesting. I KNEW you'd like the vertical panorama format!!
