About The first of many from my Pacific Northwest trip this past Fall. I like the feeling of isolation from this place on the Oregon Coast. I almost missed this location altogether, but arrived to catch two rolls before there was no light left at all. Used a tripod and cable release for detail and to slow the exposure down a bit.The Gull did not move at all. The water was very Cold...not quite like Hawaii. Your comments and opinions are always appreciated. www.hawaiianphotos.net

Vincent! It's so great to see some excellent non-Hawaii shots from you. It's still got your style... bright, vivid colours, great composition and even a bird thrown in for good measure.
I bet on the slide there is quite a bit of detail in the foreground sand (I can see some ripples already) and the cloud texture is wonderful.

Perfect exposure and composition. Nothing to improve on. In fact, one of your best ever. If this is the first in the series, one can only imagine what treats you have in store for us.

Thank you for your generous comment - largely deserved I might add; but all seriousness aside, if I didn't know you better, I'd say that gull was stuffed and planted in the sand to help make this the remarkable image that it is.

Aloha

Beautiful image!!! Being from the Northwest, your photo has captured the essence of this moment. Simple beauty, northwest pacific ocean style. The movement and flow of the water along with the stoic gull and rock create a very captivating image. An image I would enjoy falling in to, guess that's why I was mesmerized by it for so long!!!
