About	One of my earlier attempts at macro fossil photography. I'd like to try this again at a smaller aperture, longer shutter, and a better lens. However, I noted that the Nikon5700 doesn't do too bad a job at a standard macro shot. DOF needs a little work here, but I like the shot and hope you do to. Makes me think of what some of those oceans were like 300+ million years ago?

Dan, I?m not sure which one I like better, I like the damp feel of this one but I like the content of your previous one. That CP5700 got a pretty decent shallow DOF @ f/2.8 in macro mode though, it metered in perfectly on the center of the shot and pretty much lost the outside edges. I wonder what this might look like at a different perspective with more shadows to highlight the detail. I?m going to have to find some fossils to shoot.
