Like Dan, I'm impressed at the perfect clarity of this image.
I'm really curious to know what lens you used, as I don't think it was the 18-55mm kit lens.

Very beautiful bird photo, Barry! So lovely light and excellent details and clarity! Wonderful water reflections too!
Composition/cropping is wonderful as it is, but I still get curious how it would look in horisontal format. With a lttle bit of crop on top, and a lot at bottom. But on other hand, you would lose those beautiful water reflections. Well, you could try, but I think this composition "wins" in the end. And it's beautiful!
