Beautiful photo and you are right, the lighting and colors are perfect.
You are so lucky to live in such a beautiful place (assuming you do). Your portfolio brings to bear something other than the typical views of Hawaii. Until I looked through your pictures, I never realized you have cacti there.

People are going to think about how bright the colors are and wonder if it's accurate. It really is. The colors in Hawaii are that intense. The only thing that comes close are the colors in the desert southwest.

Mark: ... Thanks for the comments on the colors. The Makapuu photos were taken on a unusual day following a storm. The mid morning angle of the sun allowed for the blues in the lighthouse photo without the use of a polarizer. An hour later, the intensity disappared from the same viewing point. .. Luther
