About Walking around the block, while I had my car serviced, I noticed some lovely old relics in a wrecking yard. I had to shoot through a cyclone fence, so I really couldn't get the shot I wanted. I loved the old vines hanging from the grill, and the rust and primer..

Great find - nice shot!! I know what you mean by not being able to maneuver to get the best angle - can be quite frustrating!

Richard Dean   {K:737} 3/8/2004
You've definitely illustrated a state of decay here. The obstruction of the fence can be regarded as a positive in this case, I think.

Richard Dean
ps Please see my HANDS AT WORK photo for the answer to your question. And thanks much.

Actually, the fence may have given you a more unique shot if tech. not the best result. By focusing on the grill and the opposites of rusting and still intact design, you came away with special image. I just came back from Cuba where the 1950's lives everyday, if you care please look at my last few shots of working 1950 American automobiles in Havana, nice shot.

I like this, Rebecca - old cars like this exhibit such dignity, don't they? You did a nice job with the composition, centering on the grille, but including the little signal light on the fender and the glimpse of the car behind... I assume the blurred patches are from the fence? Whatever caused them, they add to the 'long-ago' and nostalgic feel. Jolly good show!

My dear Rebecca I truly love you style of photography and this photo gets an A+

congrats John

Nice shot for being through a fence. Could it be that the blur around the edges, assuming that it is from the fence, actually turned out to enhance the photo?

Dave
