About I headed out yesterday before work with the intention of only taking some test shots, as I have just purchased a new camera and lens. I set up, not expecting much of a sunrise but as it rose from behind a neighbouring island, it found some clear sky and painted the scen with the lovely colour for a few minutes before hiding behind cloud.

I would love to hear your comments on this, good and bad as always!

Thanks for viewing.

King; not by much. It is always softened and the colours lessened slightly in the scan. I've sharpened and tweaked the levels, mostly just to compensate that lost by scanning. Thanks for the comment, glad you like it.

you've done pretty good here, nice choice of shutter speed and a good balance as well.

Danial; I saw the thumbnail of this and almost didn't open it because I thought it had been software manipulated to obtain these colors, but on opening it I was surprised to see a wonderful palette of natural sunrise colors. Wonderful shot. Cheers. Craig

OK Daniel now i've found your other photo. Yes, this is very good, great light etc. BUT having seen the other one first i prefer that one. It's much tighter and for me more dramatic, but still showing you a lot in the frame. That's just my opinion. Both are photos you can be proud of. Regards from Switzerland, Neil
