Buttons, fingernails, teeth and eyeballs. Great light. Incredible detail in the shadows. They even seperate from the background. Very subtle. Three is the charm. I like this better than the portraits of just two.

It is sad how their faces is reflecting so much hardship. They have faces of older men...men who have gone through some life events. I love however how their gazes are fixed on you. They are giving you their full attention. Lovely and moving!

Hi Roy, here's what I think: As a multiple portrait, I think this one is, again, top notch. Compared to your previous photo, I think this one is a little less appealing. I find the contrast between the mostly dark photo and the highlights (buttons, teeth, eyes and nails), a bit too large. Looking through my eyelids (which I do regularly to see how the photo is balanced and how the dark and bright spots are divided) I only see some seemingly random placed white spots, and almost nothing in between. The previous photo has this "flaw" as well, but as there's less information (with the same tension and atmosphere) in the photo, I find it less disturbing.
The photo has the same atmosphere, but with a lot more information, I find it difficult to find a prime subject / point of attantion. That makes it a bit crowded. I like the line-up though. That works very well. I also agree with Gary, incredible detail in the shadows. A very good shot....

Again your amazing dark tones and so beautiful
Very emotional and touching. One of the very few photos I've ever seen where the concept of "friendship" appears strong and real.
I don't know why and how often you travel to those regions of Africa, but Ican see that the people there are very special to you.
I'm very glad that through your wonderful photos you are making them very specials also to me and probably many others

Superb portrait! Even the contrast is low between the background and the foreground, the soft lighting is enouph to support the difference between the textures! The result looks pretty emotional from this effect and that makes the photo more a piece of art than a simple - common portrait!

When I had my first look on this thumbnail I wondered if it is not too dark. But the real picture shows a very interesting captured portrait of the three friends. This special effect is giving a kind of charme to this shot.
