About Shopkeepers in the Tajrish bazaar in the Norht of Tehran. The Bazaris, the men who run the stalls in the bazaar, are frequently very wealthy and wield enorumous power, most of them being politically and reliiously conservative. They, so it seems, do not like their photographs being taken. Some reluctantly concede when you ask politely, but most refused promptly. As I wasn\'t primarily interested in photographing only the shopkeepers, but their stores as well, I decided to shoot from the hip. After strapping the band of my camera firmly around my wrist, holding, holding the body with one hand, pressed against my hip, I managed to get a few decent shots without being noticed.

Groeten, Lex..

Hello Hugo, it's an excellent document from Iran!! A picture very well composed, describing a beautiful daily moment and with a reach and splendid collection of colours, congratulations. Peppino.

Great shot! Beautiful colors! I wonder what they would
have done if they'd caught you. Well, I'm glad they didn't!

Tim.

This is taste value, colorful, knowing the difficulty behind the shot, the only nature disturbance the middle lamb, which can not be avoided..Regrding the comments if you read it carefully indicated to a group of mine in that date we had a technical problems. so to have them received it immediately I?ve posed it there, nothing to do with UF user..

Gerhard Hoogterp   {K:6455} 3/13/2004

Great undercover work Hugo!

Excellent composition capturing the range of colors and the shopkeepers conversating.

Well done...

excellent. what colours!

John Hatziemmanouil   {K:40580} 3/14/2004
Believe it or not, this is my father's job! Selling fabrics!!! Beautiful colours here. If the lamp wasn't so strong. Perchaps if you hang the camera in little bit higher, then the fabrics at the top could cover it. Anyway, this is not big deal for sure. Good one. Bye!

Getulio Melo   {K:6481} 3/14/2004

Hermen Pen   {K:9117} 3/14/2004
Also very vivid colours in this one! The people come out better here. I like the pose of the guy in the left :)

Richard Thornton   {K:26442} 3/14/2004
Even though the overhead banners are interesting and colorful, I would have sacrificed them to crop out the bright spot center top. I would go for a square crop, still interesting and informative without any distraction. (I'm glad you got this series, anyway.)

Carlheinz Bayer   {K:14220} 3/26/2004
The colors are phantastic. Thanks for sharing the story. Cheers! Carlheinz
