About The inside of a mosque or of the palaces of the former Shah of Peria is often more impressive than the outside. Wall to wall covered by mirrors, a magic light provides a stunning and dazzling effect..... Cheers, Hugo

Richard Thornton   {K:26442} 3/15/2004
And the chanelier seems to float in space. This is not a standard architectural shot, so I won't harp about verticals as I usually do.

Dubravko Grakalic   {K:24332} 3/15/2004

tom rumland   {K:14874} 3/15/2004
wow! even better than the last, hugo. this place must really throw your spatial awareness all to hell. it must be erie to walk around and have multiple fractured reflections follow you around. what's up with the chandelier, tho? did the place get to your spatial awareness?? ;^) this place must be amazing around sunset. great shot!

Jeff Cartwright   {K:52046} 3/15/2004

Hugo de Wolf   {K:184670} 3/15/2004
In reply to Richard Thornton and Thomas Rumland: I did not touch the photo in Photoshop (other than some level adjustments and the frame). The weird wire to the chandelier is caused by an invisibly obscured chain (parallel to the corner of the arch and a metal one) with the wire wound loosely round it. That's what creates this odd and unnatural look...

Cheers,

Hugo

Raamses Ortiz   {K:4408} 3/15/2004
Beautiful and not common colors, the composition is great. I have never seen anything like it. I must say that at the begging I didn't know what to make of it and that it took me a few minutes to figure it. Now I can see the beauty of it.

Congrats Hugo,

Raamses

Graham Mulrooney   {K:16868} 3/15/2004
Amazing Hugo with all those lovely shades of green and the soft lighting. A very beautiful image which must make such a big contrast when coming in from outside.
Best regards,
Graham.

Lori Stitt   {K:74434} 3/16/2004
Love the composition on this one. It is so wonderful to view these special places. (...and were you supposed to be taking pictures?...LOL..couldn't resist asking!!)
Even here, I have photographed weddings in so many different churches, there are those places that forbid photograph in certain areas.

I have often wondered what a mosque looks like on the inside! So this was a treat! Thanks for taking us there!

Lori :)

MaryBell    {K:32791} 3/16/2004
This may be one of your most fascinating series for me this almost seems like a magical interior of light and dappled light in a forest opening...I almost expect to see a shy forest creature about ready to exit the scene because he has been seen...again the chandelier is an anamoly...

Danish Abadi   {K:1468} 3/16/2004
Dear Hugo.
thanks a lot for your kindness, when you write to me and comment my photos, you are right about the contact shot and it was on film not PS, it is not so often that people appreciate what you have done,
anyway back to this wonderful shot, as an Iranian who have been in this kind of mosques a lot and even when i was a child i was laying down and look at those mirrors for hours during my mamas praying, i knew that they use floursent light sources inside this kind of mosques and i have photographed these kind of situation on film and unfortunately got the green cast because of the light source, and i was trying to filter the light to get the real result.
i did filtered as i used to your image and put a little bit more sharpness to see more details in this beautiful shot, hope you dont mind.
best regards
Danish

chris blah   {K:36} 3/26/2004

P. Christine Skinner   {K:27348} 4/8/2004
Mooi beeld (my Dutch may leave a lot to be desired, I understand it better than I speak it but I try) This really is a dazzling array of light, it has such a crystallized quality ..regards Christine
