timothy, excellent! i love this! i like the composition and where you placed the focus. very impressive shadow detail. what with that bright spot that had good potential to blow out but you reigned it in and kept it in check. very well done!

one question: why does the the right side of the rings look purplish while they seem to be metallic grey (gray?)?. is it a lighting effect/artifact or are the rings made of multiple metals?

anyhow, thank you so much for your great comment on my macro. very happy you dug it. i'm flattered! btw, i'll have to come back and dig through your portfolio. you have some very cool & interesting stuff here.
