i was near Baltimore Maryland today, Thursday march 18th on business and I decided to take old Route 40 back to Philadelphia instead of interstate I-95. after going about five miles I saw a marshy area to my left, which I is part of the Chesapeake Bay watershed, and spotted this great blue heron!{this is the same marsh that I got the pictures of the two beautiful wild white swans several weeks ago!) with great delight i turned by Ford Explorer around parked on the side of the road. then i started shooting pictures of him from approximately 125 yards away, with my trusted Fuji s5000, on full telephoto, in the sports mode, with the digital magnifier activated! 10x+ 2x digital. i wish he would have been closer, Im sure I could have gotten much more dramatic shots! thanks for all your wonderful and constructive comments! best regards, jon [ps by the time I started shooting pictures of this beautiful bird was 4:30 PM in the afternoon]
