Hi Dan, The light, shadows and diagonal composition is excellent. It creates a very dynamic atmosphere. A few minor points: the photo could use some more room on the left hand side, and a touch of colour might increase the appeal. Nitpicking, really, just thinking out loud. Powerful and almost flawless image. I like this one alot.... My compliments, very creative use of simple means.

Very interesting and original! Wonderful and creative playing with light and shadow, and something that I find sooooo cool is that it looks like a sleeping owl! (Easier to see that on thumbnail) Hope you can see it too, so you don't start thinking that I'm nuts or something... ;-)

Great shadows and textural complexity from a simple construction. Have you tried it as straight BW? Maybe just the metallic slinky tones suggest BW to me. Nice work, Dan.

I knew a guy about a hundred years ago in the local camera club back when there was one. He routinely carried a slinky with him for those times when he wasn't photographically inspired. He would pull out his slinky and make a picture in whatever environment he found himself.
This is compositionally excellent and interesting, too.

Your photos always intrigue me. This one plays the slinky song in my head (do you know the one from the commercials way back when?) . I love how the actual object and shadow fill the frame. FUN!
