About (in following Jim's habit of syno-naming titles...) This is a shot of bluebonnets. If you're not from Texas, you may not be aware that it is against the law to NOT photograph bluetonnets while they bloom in the spring.

nice compo ...but the DOF is a little off, the top of the flower is out of focus.... and the shot is a little overexposed as well.. maybe a little tighter crop to get rid of the dof problem?

Do not see why people rated this so low,

Hugo de Wolf   {K:184981} 3/29/2004
Hi Paul, I like the depth of field, and the way the bluetonnets fade into the background diagonally. I don't quite agree with Buzz. Maybe the DOF is a bit too shallow, but the weather seems overcast, which removes the contrast, and flattening out the white petals. Composition is very well balanced.

*Grin* Glad you live by the law.... But for once, there's a law that makes sense. It must be forbidden to even walk past them without a camera. Suggestion: Open a photo store for all those suckers who forgot to bring a camera....) You can even lure tourists into buying cameras off season by including several fake ones into your inventory. I'll plan to be there next year, so you are welcome to practise on me....

Cheers,

Hugo

It is also against the law, and unpatriotic, to rate pictures of Lupinus texensis (Texas Bluebonnet for the non-botany majors out there) so low!

P.S. Prepare yourself for another Bluebonnet pic sometime in the next 24 hours ;)
