About People at rest, enjoying the increasing power of the spring sun. The fuzziness is part of a rather poor scan. Comments, as always are welcome!

Cheers,

Hugo

Hi Hugo,

Excellent candid capture, I like the centered composition.

The scan looks fine to me. Do you only use film? or do you use digital as well?

Cheers...

Hugo de Wolf   {K:184670} 3/28/2004
Hi Thamer, Thanks for the comment. I mainly use Film, but I do have a digital camera, Oly C5050z. But in general, I only use that for snaps. If I have money again, I'll buy a decent Digital SLR.

Cheers,

Hugo

Hi Hugo, are you sure this isn't a self portrait and you had a little too much last night? ;-)
GREAT candid shot. I like the fact that the sun is obviously shining but it seems to be a cold day judging by what the guy is wearing. Nice framing and really nice that you got down to his level to take the photo. One of the lessons i remember reading somewhere is "don't take your photo at the standard tripod height of 1m60 (or whatever), make it heigher, make it lower, but make it different. Nice work. All good things, your friend in the alps :) Neil

Paolo De Maio   {K:34166} 3/29/2004
I like this kind of street shot.
The human presence in blue give an horizontal break point to the shot composition in comparison to the yellow wall background.

Clifton Jones   {K:10604} 3/29/2004
Excellent shot...composed very well...

Paola Pandolfini   {K:1119} 3/29/2004

Verena Rentrop   {K:14426} 3/29/2004
very interested, as always in the follow up two parts of the triptych...

the spring sun gives the perfect power after a long, dark and cold winter...

I enjoyed it the last two days in Goedereede NL :)

Cheers,
Verena

great detail, hugo. although i probably would have given it my "signature" dark tone ;^) i'm thinking maybe -0.5EV but since there are very few shadows here it may not work. i like the centered comp here as well. the best part tho is the contrast between what is obviously a middle eastern scene, with the guy's bright blue modern running shoes.

Richard Thornton   {K:26442} 3/29/2004
The high key really conveys warmth. The wall and ground establish context. This guy should be well done in a few minutes. Better turn him over.

Raamses Ortiz   {K:4408} 3/29/2004
Veny nice photo, Hugo. Simple, but very good.

Congrats,

Raamses.

With closer look and BW you could create a huge and powerfull feeling of lonelynes and homeless...
In this mode it became a lazy sunbathing, which turned out just as good!
Greets, Andrej.

Sorry I'm a little low profile at the moment. As UseFilm doesn't yet show the number of new messages of friends I really have to remember to check which I do once in a while, but my routines are still somewhat disturbed.

As for this photo, it's great. Nice composition. The guy stands out wonderfully against te yellowish background and the besides it's also a nice view on a different culture. (If somebody lays on the street like that in the Netherlands, police cars are stopping too check if he's still alive and not drunk..;)

Great shot!

Kees and Carolyn    {K:15193} 3/29/2004
Wonderful shot! I like it! The lighting makes it look like very warm weather.

sandy c. hopkins   {K:17107} 3/29/2004
lovely composition here...the light is good. it looks chilly though..perhaps he is just trying to shade the sun from his eyes?
great work.
good to see you!

Getulio Melo   {K:6481} 3/29/2004
Good composition and colors. Nice shot!

Saeed Al Shamsi   {K:47538} 3/29/2004
The strong horizontal line of the wall catching the floor, and the reclining pose"sleepy" tired man,All insist that hotizontal framing is appropriate here, angle shot is more than perfect, powerful image, regards,Saeed

Carmem A. Busko   {K:48763} 3/29/2004
Very nice composition, Hugo, fantastic contrasting tones! Very plesant image, at all.

Thank you for your critique.. in fact, I always look for a cropping near proportional screen size.. would you mind illustrating your suggestion with a image?
Congrats for all your perfect images... they have been teaching me a lot.
Regards,
Carmem

Hugo de Wolf   {K:184670} 4/1/2004

Hugo
