Hi David, I like the white background it really makes the spider stand out. Interesting markings on it. Chris

Love this. Superb macro. You are at your best with this kind of shot. Love the light on its back. Again white background works very well.

An nice spider image. I would try flipping it 180deg. so it looks more threatening

David,I think that the black widow of here has the red point circular and nearer at the end of the abdomen, they are very common in rural areas and make their nests among the stones in dry places.

Hi Armando. Thanks for your great comments. Ive never seen a live black widow, do they have similar markings? This is a young female redback. The white markings tend to dissapear as it gets older.

i think its AWESOME! hahahaha! it pops out better in thumbnail when presented in this manner, eh? i'm drooling over this one, seriously. i love love love images of spiders. this one is TIGHT! (i can tell it is a photo and not a drawing by the slight subtle drop off of focus around the edges...)

The nice thing of photography is that everybody can make it the way he/she wants it. I agree with Paula that it is not a prerequisite that a photo must look realistic. I just ventilated the way i look to this photo. And ofcourse i can like or dislike it. But i hope you understand that my comment is never ment to flame someone, but to give my feeling about it ;-)

And one more thing: it is actually quite a clever thing to create a photograph that looks as if it was a drawing. Not many people can do it...

I don't think it is a prerequisite for a photo to be realistic, and I do think that is a very naive and immature statement to make. It bears no critical value whatsoever. I would very much like to see some of your images to illustrate what you can create using a camera. Are you planning to upload some photos?

Its supposed to look like a graphic design. If I wanted it to look realistic I wouldnt have put it on a white background. I shot this for a client who paid lots of money for it to look just like that. Know what I mean!!!!!! So thanks for marking it down Brenzef!!!!!!

I cannot tell its not a drawing. A natural background make the photo more realistic. Now the photo is empty. Know what i mean?

David is a very brave man, Lisabet. He does much, much more trying things too, such as riding bikes to work - that sort of thing. Cool photo! I wish the bum was a tad sharper. Hahaha!
