I love the oomposition, it just appears a little washed out, wish it had a touch of colour or deeper tones and detail. Then again maybe that is the effect you were striving for, making it appear even further away.

Really nice photo, Rebecca! I really like the way the red filter darkened the trees while brightening the fields - makes for really eye-catching contrast, and the clouds are great, too - they really form a 'ceiling' for the landscape! You clearly didn't have much blue to work with in the sky, and it does make it look a little washed out, but the detail is there! As Christine said, maybe this is the look you were going for - it certainly works as is - but you could also try adding a little drama to the sky if you wanted to. I hope you don't mind my putting my 'spin' on it! :)

I certainly don't mind at all, Dirck! I love it when people give me their views. So what did you do to enhancethe clouds? I'm all ears. I'm an old beginner again and appreciate all input! Thanks for your kind comments also :) I like what you did here.

Hi Rebecca,
All I did to 'punch up' the clouds was to create a second layer (duplicate of the first), then adjusted the levels on the background layer to bring up the midtones and shadows. Finally, erase the sky only from the overlaying layer to reveal the adjusted on below. Actually, come to think of it you could just as easily mask off the sky on the image, and adjust the levels on the selection. I hope I'm making some sort of sense! :)
