You have taken a simple article and turned it into an interesting piece of art. Very crisp, good colour. Clever.

Lori Stitt   {K:74437} 4/4/2004
Very colorful aren't they?

Hi Hugo,
Very interesting image! And you made an ordinary thing look out of the ordinary! I like the angle from which you protographed this one!

Nice work and good imagination Hugo!
Lori :)

ps..special one for you in my portfolio..

Saeed Al Shamsi   {K:47543} 4/4/2004
Yes been granted to enter (valid 28-01-2004) and till (27-4-2004) for 30 day stay, what I can say here this is not: The toy camera as you mentioned in the project. This is more expensive than plastic simple camera, you need to correct it other wise the "Olympus" company, will protest, lol,Saeed

Verena Rentrop   {K:14426} 4/5/2004
Hi Hugo

very colourful for an official document, so different to a similiar document in Germany I would guess ;)

Like the sharpness allocation...

How long did you stayed there?

Cheers,
Verena

Faride Valigholizadeh   {K:493} 4/5/2004
Goedemiddag Hugo,

Groetjes,
faride

According to things i read, your visa's validation in Iran is until april 27th, but your residence duration is marked 30 days. If you are still in Iran, and you ever think of visiting some of Iranian photojournalists, wirters, cafes and photographic sites, you're more than welcome to email me. I am an Iranian living in Tehran, have seen your Iran dossier, and well I'd like to make a few suggestions. First of all, your visas were great. But I recommend you to visit some of the thousand famous photos of mosques, and touristic sites, some of your photos look very familiar. And there usually are fantastic sites other than Islamic ones. Great shot of the visa. BTW teh name of the visa is something like Marchen Maria Holtrop, is that your real name?

Hugo de Wolf   {K:184981} 4/12/2004
Hi Ida, Once again, thanks for your comment. We went to Iran in February, travelling quite a bit. I also did two assignments, one for Dutch Television and one for the UN. We stayed in Tehran for some time, and then travelled to Yazd, Shiraz and Esfahan. In Tehran I visited the Iranian Photographers' Center, which showed a collection of remarkable photographs of the Islamic religion. Very interesting.

Of course I did not only photograph the passports, there are quite a few photos of Iran in my portfolio...

As I'm typing this, I'm back at my desk in Holland....:( I photographed the passport of my wife, so Maria Holtrop is not my name.... Might come as a surprise, but my name is Hugo de Wolf....;o)

Cheers,

Hugo

Jill Hatzai   {K:1854} 4/14/2004
i like this, although i am a fan of shallow depth of field. i like so many things about this, the little words that you eye finds as it wanders around, the dates. details of a trip, a place. very effective here. i find it amazing how decorative and different some countries visas and stamps are. like your passport is an international coloring book.

Hugo de Wolf   {K:184981} 4/14/2004
Hi Jill, Thanks for your comment. If you like a shallow DOF, take a look at this one: http://www.usefilm.com/image/409465.html. )

Cheers,

Hugo

James Martin   {K:171} 4/19/2004
Hugo,
I can't make up mind; which of these shots do I like the best? Its hard to tell. I like the harsh angle and the depth of the 'Visa to Iran I' but the colour and composition of 'Visa to Iran II' is clearly better. Either way, great work. You have an interesting eye.. keep em' coming.

Cheers,
Jim

Hugo de Wolf   {K:184981} 4/19/2004
Hi James, Thanks for your comment, I appreciate it.... No need to be alarmed? The "Just a guy with a camera" are the dangerous ones....;o)

Cheers,

Hugo
