About My cheap scanner (Mustek 9000P) has lost a load of detail from sax player's jacket and cap that's there on the original. No amout of adjusting the levels can pick it up, it's just not reading the fine detail.

let me tell you that eventhough the sax player would seem as a dark sillhouette it would still be a perfect street-jazz shot...
