Hi Jeff, I think the coloured version you posed a while ago tells more of a story.... The wide angle setting causes quite a heavy pinch in the image. Very interesting to see it in B&W, though. Thanks for sharing!

What an amazing shot!
Some photos are fascinating for their simplicity, others, like this one, is fascinating just because there is so much to see. I love this composition. It's lots of photo's in one and everything I see is interesting in its variety of details. The choice of B&W is perfect. In colour it would probably look messy and with distracting elements. Well balanced composition with a beautiful display of texture and shadows.
I'm adding this to my favourites
cause it's ispirational and absolutely superb

Hi Jeff,
straight away, I think this is a good B & W photo, though I see that you alsohave a colour version of it on your portfolio. For me, both formats work with this back-alley scene. However, I'd have to say that I like the punchiness of the colour photo just a tad more. Mind you all your photos are great so my having a preference for one over another is a difficult thing to do!!!Thanks for posting the photo and continued success and enjoyment from it all!!!

I like the B/W version as well as the colour. They have different moods. While the colour depiction is more of an attempt, by whoever did the painting, to lift the decrepit view of the run-down entrance, the black and white shows a sort of dejected hopelessness. Good job on both ..Christine
