The graininess is perfect for getting the emotion caused by this image across. Where is his friend? What happened? Why is his head so low? Is he holding the tears in? All of these questions and yet no one will know the answer. It leaves people wondering why...and that impression of long lasting thought after they have already closed your image is what you aim for in every photo. And you got it.
