About A broken bat from the Tulsa Driller's baseball game on Easter Sunday. After the play, my son was given the bat - he was most excited to get a broken bat! If only I'd known that "broken bats" were "cool!"

BTW, this was a single shot taken with my 1D. During a game, I like to catch batters with the usual idea of simply catching a good hit before trying to move to the infield for some other action shots.

Thanks for the constructive comments - most appreciated!

A great capture!!! - I guess a bit of luck is needed to get a shot like this. I will add it to my favorites right now. Your son was lucky as well - so it was a fantastic Easter Sunday for both of you!!
Regards Ivan

Excellant Dan...remarkable composition and capture, especially given the precise timing you needed to capture this. I like how the batter is pricisely lined up with the banner...Gloria

wow---looks like that ball may have bitten him on the instep, also. You have some great sport shots here. Off to see more. And yes...they were horse teeth marks. lolololol

I agree, this is a great capture! i love the detail as far as the dirt kicking up of his cleats, not to mention the excellent timing of the bat shattering! once again, incredible sports shot. And yes, you are getting too good at this!

Fantastic shot, both the photo and the bat should be framed together. Regards 7/7

Well done with great detail. Do you have an autowinder? or was this a one shot, lucky shot?

Nice catch. I bet you weren't expecting this when you snapped that shot. Seeing the bat totally stopped with the ball still slightly blurred with motion makes it all the more interesting to look at.

Hey Dan, I see you like sports photography. Thanks for your comment on Shelton Benjamin, I got the timing right on that one. This is equally as cool, I love cool moments frozen in time! Nice work.
